Straddie as it is affectionately known by locals is the second largest sand island in the world and an absolute must for Wildlife and Landscape photographers. Undoubtedly the best land based Whale watching ( May to Nov ) in Queensland it is not uncommon to see kangaroos, sea eagles, stingrays and dolphins in your first half hour here.

The Island is steeped in Indigenous history with the local Quandamooka tribe dating back 21,000 years.

The long sandy beaches, crystal blue water and abundance of wildlife make it a day trip you won’t forget.
